Decided on a whim to visit Lock 27 after what must be at least 20 years and was immediately struck by how things have improved on the canal bank on their doorstep.
That’s where the improvements ended I’m afraid. From the moment I walked through the doors I was shocked by how down at heel the place is and I think if you saw the interior in broad daylight it would probably be condemned.
Being polite we decided to have a drink and contemplate the menu. The mammoth choice, always a bad sign, the sticky tables and unkempt sullen waitresses that were too busy doing nothing put the lid on it and we left. The raised area we sat in looked like there had been a chimps tea party earlier in the day which would have taken just a few mins to clear up……………but no………. peanuts everywhere ……..broken glass……
For all I didn’t taste the food I have no inkling to spend hard earned cash in a place that cant get even the basics right.
Drove 100 yards and found theAgra…………..nice food, good service, clean interior.
Score for Lock 27……….didn’t eat however on what was on show front of house I dread to think what the kitchens are like if they mirror the bar / restaurant………
nil scored and to be avoided.
