Elia Greek Restaurant 24 George Square Glasgow G21EG

What a fabulous location, right on George Square with a lovely view over the Square to the City Chambers directly opposite. A warmer welcome you won’t get anywhere in the City and it has a real genuine feel to it which continued during our stay.
The interior is contemporary warm and friendly and has been fitted out to high standard with laid back Greek music in the background.

It was Champions League final night so being early we went with the pre theatre menu which was very good value for the money however we did add an extra starter all of which was delicious.

If I could fault Elia on the night….well yes one of the waitress’s was a bit inexperienced but everyone starts somewhere and if I did have a minor criticism the “beefburgers in tomato sauce” starter needs to be re-named……. its ten times better than the name suggests!

The chicken kebab starter was a little dry however when combined with the creamy yogurty dip it was truly delightful.

Our main courses were Lamb Kebab (this is how lamb should be cooked!) and the Vegetarian Moussaka.

Great value for money however if you’re a member of “Club Fat B*****d” portions in the pre theatre menu may be a tad on the lean side for you.

To sum the experience up I like Elia and I want to go back soon and I think that includes a holiday back to Greece!

Scores a 7.5 and will improve
